Tequila Team Building: Group Happy Hour
Relax as a group during a private Happy Hour at Rio Rio Cantina. Your team will enjoy discounted food and drinks, like 100% agave tequila and barrel-select margaritas, in a friendly, festive atmosphere. Private Happy Hour options are available 7 days a week, from 3-6pm and again from 9-11pm.
Tequila Team Building: Event A
Your event begins with our Certified Tequila Ambassadors leading your team on a fascinating exploration of the history of tequila-making, from its 16th-century origins to the modern-day distillation and bottling processes. The Agave region of Mexico, where tequila-making is based, is one of Mexico’s most significant cultural landscapes, and the agave tradition is a key component of national identity. Your Tequila Ambassador will reveal secrets of this area’s most distinguished distilleries for the process of transforming the beautiful blue agave’s “pineapple” from desert fruit into some of the world’s finest tequila. The educational experience concludes with an overview and quarter-ounce tasting of the three ages of tequila – blanco, reposado, and añejo.
Tequila Team Building: Event B
If you’ve got a group that loves to bond through competition, this is the experience for you. Your Tequila Ambassador will welcome everyone in your party with a Rio Rio Skinny Margarita, while Rio Rio bartenders share the secrets of creating some of the Cantina’s best tequila cocktails. Once participants have had a chance to up their mixology game, they put their newly acquired knowledge into action. Dividing into smaller groups, teams compete in an ultimate tequila cocktail-making contest. Rio Rio Cantina provides the supplies – herbs, syrups, fruits, vegetables, mixers and of course, tequila – and your team provides the creativity and competitive drive to create the perfect cocktail – and stronger bonds. This is an experience your team will be talking about for months.
Tequila Team Building: Event C
While our limited-edition, barrel-select tequilas certainly stand on their own, this tasting experience takes things to the next level by adding some of our signature Tex-Mex dishes, specifically paired to enhance each age of tequila. Let your Tequila Ambassador introduce your group to each of the three tequilas, which you will sample along with your chosen food pairings. With nine delicious dishes to choose from – three selected for each age of tequila, you can easily customize your event’s menu to suit everyone’s tastes.
Blanco Tequila Pairings:
Tequila Lime Shrimp (shrimp sautéed with garlic, Blanco tequila, fresh herbs, and butter); Aguachile de Camaron (fresh shrimp, lime, serranos, cucumber and onion); Cocktail de Elotes (chilled corn and avocado cocktail in rich tomato juice).
Reposado Tequila Pairings:
Taquitos de Pollo Rojo (red chile-rubbed chicken rolled in corn tortillas); Empanaditas de Carnitas (tender pulled pork wrapped in flaky dough); Jalapeño Chile Rellenos con Picadillo (seasoned ground beef stuffed in roasted jalapeños).
Añejo Tequila Pairings:
Enchilada de Barbacoa en Mole (braised beef-cheek enchilada with savory house mole sauce); Carne Adobado (red chile and adobo-rubbed flank steak); Albondigas Guisadas (hearty meatball in rich gravy).
